The so-called breach of 11 September 1967 was among the less common violations of the state border. At 6:30 a.m. that day, an unknown perpetrator stole a motor vehicle – a green V3S truck – from the Military Design Institute in Bratislava, Krasňany. He travelled along the state road to the area in front of the village of Vysoká pri Morave where he turned into a field and used the truck to break through a double-walled wire barrier. The intruder then ran to the bank of the Morava River where the border patrol lost sight of him. Despite a search operation and efforts to create a screen on the axis of the intruder’s advance, the intruder managed to avoid apprehension. His identity was discovered later when an article appeared in the Austrian newspaper “Kurier”. According to the article, the person was Július K. (31), a Czechoslovak citizen and a locksmith by profession. After crossing the wire barrier, he reportedly ran to the bank of the Morava River where he stayed hidden for two days, observing the activity of border guards. It was only after this period that he swam to the Austrian side. Despite a large number of participating personnel and technical means used, the border guards failed to catch the intruder.
