Rope – Storytelling SK-AT

This case of attempted illegal crossing closely relates to a rope. It was with the help of this rope that Pavol P. (27) attempted to get on board the Soviet ship Talin passing under the SNP Bridge. The ship was sailing up the Danube River to Austria. His attempt was discovered right at the start. As soon as he started to descend the rope from the bridge, the Talin crew alerted the border patrol. The apprehension of Pavol and his friends took place within minutes. He tried to escape on 26 March 1978 around midday.
