Tips for trip

Záhorská Ves

Because of its proximity to the border, Záhorská Ves used to be one of the most guarded places inCzechoslovakia. Today, the border with Austria is not fenced with barbed wire and there are no customs officers carrying weapons. The only thing that remains is the former customs building, which houses the Uhranské Museum, where you can learn about the history and traditions of Uhorská and Záhorská Ves. If you like the opera, you should walk along the street named after the world-famous opera singer Lucia Popp and see her childhood house. From Záhorská Ves, you can take the ferry to the town of Agern an der March in Austria and then on to watch storks in Marchegg.
