Tips for trip

Tripoint (Slovak Republic – Austria – Czech Republic)

The most southern point of Moravia lies at the confluence of the biggest Moravian rivers – Morava and Thaya – but it is also the place where the borders of Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Austria meet. One of the largest riparian forests in Europe is located here too. The area between the rivers is a so-called hardwood forest with most of the trees being oak and ash, some of which are 300 or 400 years old. The area is known for a typical dense network of meandering distributaries and periodically flooded shadowy wetlands. Nearby, you will also find a historic border stone that Maria Theresa had installed in 1755.
