In Veľké Leváre, you can find abundant crops of edible mushrooms and deep pine woods with plenty of game and wildlife, but it is mostly known for its complex of Haban buildings known as the Haban Yard. It consists of 22 traditional buildings erected from the 17th to the 19th century. It is the largest preserved location of native Habans in Europe. They were skilled craftsmen who founded independent communities with unique architecture in this area and left some architecturally and historically interesting buildings. We recommend a visit to Izer’s House with its Haban Crafts Museum, as Habans were famous for their pottery. The Yard is classified as a Historic Reserve of Folk Architecture.
