The cycling bridge connects Bratislava’s Devínska Nová Ves with the Austrian palace of Schloss Hof. The bridge over Morava River has been symbolically erected on the same spot as the former historical bridge from the times of Maria Theresa, with some of its pillars still remaining. Part of the bridge construction is even built into an army bunker. You can learn about the history of this area at the Iron Curtain Museum, Museum of Customs and Financial Administration as well as see some authentic barbed wire that used to separate the border between Slovakia and Austria.
